Information
We treat each child as an individual and help them to achieve their “Early Learning Goals” as defined by the Department for Education and Skills. Our success in achieving this aim is well documented in our OFSTED inspection report, which is available to read during normal session times. We plan our curriculum to enable the children to achieve their own “Early Learning Goals”. These goals are a series of six areas:
- Personal and Social and Emotional Development
- Language, Communication and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Creative Development
- Physical Development
We organise end of term concerts and parties, an annual trip, sports day and other fund raising activities.
ADMISSIONS POLICY
Children can start the Pre- School as soon as they are two years and six months old and do not need to be potty trained. Our admissions criteria is based on age order ONLY, so older children are given priority. Please contact the Enrolment Administrator to register your interest in a place or to make an appointment to visit us.
Should you wish to withdraw your child from the Playgroup, two weeks written notice is required. Playgroup opening hours are 9.00am until 12.00pm. Children must not be left early and should be collected promptly.
We hold a Charity Status and as such, our fees are set to cover our costs. At present, fees are £9.00 per session. Parents receive invoices during the first week of each half term for immediate payment. Cheques or cash should be handed to our staff. The local Education Authority directly funds most three year olds and all four year olds places. Late payment of fees is unfair and discouraged.
RISING 5S
We offer a Rising 5 sessions on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon for those children due to start school in September. We have a close liaison with the local primary schools who give us guidelines on more structured and formal schoolwork which is carried out during these sessions. The cost for these sessions is £9.00.
